THE LOCAL AREA
Chia is situated on the southern coast of Sardinia, and is characterised by its beautiful, wild landscapes, its turquoize seas and its sandy beaches. Nearby you will find everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The area is ideal for lovers of scuba diving as the sea bed is relatively shallow and incredibly interesting. A short distance from Santa Margherita you will find the Phoenician town of Nora (later inhabited by the Romans), the pretty seaside church of Sant'Efisio and the marvellous beaches of Chia, Cala Cipolla, Tuerredda an Su Giudeu. The lively town of Pula is just a few minutes drive from the Parco Torre Chia Hotel and in the summer hosts many shows and concerts. Cagliari, Sardinia's largest and most important city, is just 60 km (37 miles) from the hotel, and must absolutely not be missed. Its old town centre is breathtaking, with the imposing bastion of Saint Remy commanding a superb view over the Gulf of the Angels. Inland you will find many interesting attractions such as the lakes, the flamingos, and a number of important archeological sites.
